About Kira

My name is Kira & I'm 26 years old. I live in Dover, Delaware. My mom taught me how to sew when I was in junior high. I started designing and making clothes for my dolls. In high school, I couldn't decide which prom dress to wear, so I cut two dresses apart and made them into one dress. That was my first big project. Through the years, I tried making clothes from store-bought patterns, but they never fit right and the directions were so confusing. Quilts were easier, so I made a few of those. In 2009, I made a Lady Gaga Halloween costume and it came out so cool looking. I decided to see if anyone was selling Gaga costumes on eBay and so my astonishment, no one was. So I listed my dress on there (since I still had time to make myself another). I was amazed at how high the bids got. I ended up making about five dresses a day for several weeks leading up to Halloween for customers on eBay. After that, I continued to make different Gaga costumes for customers on eBay and Etsy for three years, and I still do. Now I have a full-time job, so I can't make those as often as I used to, but I still do make them. In my spare time, I like to make myself dresses and purses. Although I can understand the directions for store-bought patterns now, I am always still frustrated because they never seem to fit. Therefore, I usually create my own patterns so that the clothes actually fit me. I decided to make some tutorials for people with some projects that have easy-to-follow directions because it's so frustrating when the pattern either doesn't come out how it's supposed to, or is too frustrating and difficult to understand. I hope you enjoy. Feel free to post a link to what you made, or post a picture on my facebook page. www.facebook.com/kirapeasleydesigns KiraPeasleyDesigns.Etsy.Com
